A San Diego based barbershop, Paloma is a refuge for those who want to be pampered somewhere they can let their hair down and their freak flags fly. The main principal behind Paloma is kindness and acceptance. Steering away from the typical masculine barbershop vibe, Paloma stands to be a community hub for all people.
Inspired by an eclectic mix of 60’s psychedelia, 90’s counterculture and touch of witchy-ness, Paloma’s brand reflects the radical and iconoclasts in our society. Andrew Lee, founder of Paloma doesn’t take himself too seriously and he doesn’t want you to either. Part of self care is the freedom to be yourself and that’s exactly what he wants for his clients when they sit in his chair.
Paloma’s logo is almost a talisman of sorts. Borrowing imagery from Wicca and Astrology and set on a psychedelic pattern, it symbolizes peace, energy, growth and creativity.

Nazeerah is a thoughtfully curated Egyptian textile design shop based out of Portland, Oregon. The goal of the company is to provide an avenue to revitalize the dying art form of textile design in Egypt by selling the beautiful handmade items to the rest of the world.
The logo is a geometric abstraction designed to reference the patterns found in Egyptian textile design while paying homage to the iconic scarab and its underlying symbolism of growth and fertility. The lines that jut out from the tear drop shape in the middle of the design mimic energy sprouting from the heart, seed or flame.
The type is intended to be paired with the scarab and accentuates the geometric design and uses the same line weight to accentuate the logo’s geometric design. The crossbar of the letter A mimics the bottom of the tear drop shape. The serif that begins at the top of the letter N and and the stroke of the letter H evokes energetic balance.
Nazeerah's logo references so much of ancient Egyptian culture yet at the same time maintains an elegant airy modern edge that is both fresh and contemporary.
Finish people are very connected to nature and during the long summers they spend as much time as possible outdoors. Spending time in nature is considered part of a healthy lifestyle in Finland. In this staggeringly beautiful country, time in nature is considered part of a healthy lifestyle. While branding Finland, I wanted to emphasize this important relationship between nature and the calming effect it has on people. Even in the dead of winter when it is dark 24 hours a day you can see the northern lights glow with beauty above the misty, snowy hills.
For this brand, I explored imagery that highlights Finland's rolling hills, mystical foggy climate and their thousands of lakes. The blue color palette evokes calmness. The texture used throughout the visual theme references the unpolished imperfection of rural life that is so authentic.
My client asked for wedding invitations inspired by aspects of both Art Deco and Art Nouveau. She was particularly drawn moody color palettes, repeat patterns and the "opium den" feel. After gaining inspiration from research, I designed a motif and theme that echoed the vibe she wanted, but with subjects I had not seen in this kind of artwork, such as the moth motif, and my own stylization of dandelions and poppies. All artwork is hand drawn.
SIMPLIFY | CURATE is a Portland based decluttering, organizing and interior design business with an eco–conscious core. Sarah, the founder of S | C, encourages less consumerism by guiding clients to declutter and organize their personal space while repurposing what they already own. Her clients end up with a refreshed space that emphasizes their personal and unique style.
Sarah’s business is committed to helping people live with less plastic and less waste. She embraces the beauty of wabi–sabi aesthetic and pairs it with skilled, common sense organization to create a space that, simply put, feels good.
SIMPLIFY | CURATE is an environmentally conscious company, and her branding reflects how the organic movement and colors of nature can be an alternative to organization via plastic bins and monochrome minimalism. The paintings I created for S | C ’s branding are inspired by the way stones reflect color as they catch light, celebrating the unpredictable, imperfect and unique beauty in nature. True personal style doesn’t look like a catalog, it is a curation of the things we find beautiful.
The warm, folksy feel of the small cafés and restaurants of Western Europe lingered in my memory long after my travels. The atmosphere of these places seemed naturally designed, crafted by the decorative instincts of an artistic person with an innate understanding of beauty and design. Illustrations of food and hand lettering give these places that hand crafted feeland I wanted to bring that ambiance to Le Petit Chariot.
I can make old, discolored and cracked photos look new again!
